Ride for the Colors

Did you know there are 16 different cancer awareness colors?* At Broxton Bridge Plantation in October, you'll be able to ride while representing your color for a great cause! We are raising money for the Hollings Cancer Center in Charleston, SC. So if you or someone you know and love has cancer, or is recovering, this is the perfect way to show that you care.

Be a part of South Carolina's first ever ride for cancer!

Hollings Cancer CenterBroxton Bridge Plantation, nestled on the Salkehatchie River, is located just south of Walterboro, SC in a town called Ehrhardt. (click for directions) Participants in Ride for the Colors cause will enjoy miles of beautiful trails at this historic plantation. Come out and ride for a great cause! This is a benefit for cancer victims, survivors and patients. Proceeds go to the Hollings Cancer Center in Charleston, a national cancer institute designated cancer center.

Sign me up!

To enter you and your horse, you must print out and sign our liability waiver and read our trail rules and regulations form, then fill out our Ride for the Colors online registration form. A minimum donation of $100 is required for the three days of the event - October 14th (starting at 9am), 15th and 16th (ending at 6pm). This is inclusive of the trail ride fees, and a delicious feast of Beaufort stew on Saturday night, made from the finest local seafood. Also on the menu are steamed oysters, hamburgers and hot dogs and all the trimmings. There will be good music provided and lots of camaderie, too! This fee does not include camper spaces and corrals. If you wish to reserve either, you may do so on our registration form.

For the men who plan to accompany their horselover ladies to this event, we are opening the skeet shooting range, and fishing is always an option, too.

Note that you do not have to bring a horse to attend, but you must still sign up using our online registration form. Just fill out the donation and accommodations section (if applicable) and skip the horse and corral section. Please also let us know that you are attending by going to our facebook invitation.

Prizes Galore!

Thank you in advance for helping us to raise money for this cause! If you bring in $500 or more, you will be eligible for our grand prize, and $250 or more makes you eligible for our second place prize; there will be a drawing for those bringing in more than $500 and a separate drawing for those who bring in more than $250 ($250 - $499). There will also be door prize drawings for those who attend, as well as a silent auction.
