This gorgeous old Civil War site has over 3,000 acres of land that is simply beautiful and exceptionally nice for the trail rides. We plan on riding both sides of the highway again this year! Camping facilities include 150 sites that range from full hookups to primitive, including the ability to stay in a cabin with your horse nearby! There are restrooms and showers in camp, as well as water available for watering and/or washing horses. [All pets must be kept on leash at all times when not in trailers or pens.]
Camping Fees: $30 per rig per night for electric/water/sewer sites; 50-amp electric is slightly higher at $35 per rig per night; without sewer hookup is $25 per rig per night for water/electric; Primitive camping is $15 per night. Portable corral panels (5) set at your campsite are $10 per night. Horses must be housed at your trailer using an approved NATRC method, so these corrals make that EASY! Camping fees will be paid directly to Broxton Bridge. Camping reservations are necessary to meet specific needs. Phone: (800) 437-4868. Be sure to specify NATRC EVENT and date when calling for reservations. Upon arrival YOU MUST CHECK IN AT OFFICE for camping fees, waivers, and camping assignment.
Trail Information: The trails are barefoot-friendly groomed soft and hard sandy tracks, winding through stands of mature South Carolina pines, hardwoods, cypress swamps, and an old historical Civil War site. There will be water and port-a-potties available on the trail every few miles. The weather could be warm, wet, or cool in the spring, so please prepare appropriately.
Ride Notes: We will use the pavilion for check-in, starting at noon on Friday. We will have ride briefings, as well as pot luck dinners on Friday and Saturday nights. Mary’s Food Truck will be on site over the weekend with fresh grilled hamburgers, hot dogs, etc.!!). (Volunteers will be fed lunch on Sat. and Sun.)
