

Horse Trails
Open to the public, year round. Explore over 40 miles of trails on 2500 acres that has been in the same family since the early 1700's.
The footing is sandy with no rocks on flat trails wide enough for two horses to ride side by side. Sun exposure varies between heavily wooded shady areas to open fields.

Views include the Salkehatchie River from trails on the bluff to trails through mature stands of pines and hardwood. We can provide you with a most enjoyable trail ride year-round!

Rider's amenities include water for horses along trails, access to bath house, Wi-Fi, and corral rentals. At the campgrounds you can have your horses corralled next to your RV. Dogs are allowed also.
Our daily riding fee is $10 per rider per day. This fee goes directly towards maintaining our trails. Our trails are wide, sandy, flat, and groomed.
During deer season, trail riding is restricted to 10am to 4pm

Is there ample trailer parking? Yes. There is plenty of trailer parking at the campground. Recommend parking in the Primitive area and or near the covered corrals.

How do I pay the $10 daily riding fee per rider?
At the Campground Office, there is a drop off box you can put your money inside. You may also pay via Venmo. Payment can be sent to @Jerry-Varn last 4-digits 0091

Where are you allowed to ride?
Riders may take advantage of both sides of the property. Green/White and Black/White arrows keep you on the main side of the property. You can cross the Broxton Bridge Hwy (hwy 601) and explore the Bear Bay side of the property. To cross the road, follow the Red/White or Black/Gold arrows.

Where are we asked not to ride?
Please don’t ride down the center of the runway. You are asked to stay off the runway crest. Please stay off the battle ground area. This is a protected historic site.

Where is the trail head?
Trail head is located down at the campground. More specifically, just after the road going between the campground and the field w the donkeys.

What if we hear shooting?
We have a sporting clays course and have marked off where riders are not allowed to ride. While you may hear shooting, the trails are safe.
